High Wycombe

My lovely client was struggling with her small, triangular-shaped garden which was dominated by the existing garage and parking area. Despite the small space, there were a number of dangerous levels and old elements to address. Designed by me and built by the trusted team at the Garden Design Co.

When you first arrived on site and looked out of any window into the garden, your view was immediately drawn to the imposing garage for which there was no screening. The whole space felt exposed and had a number of uneven levels and existing issues to address.

It was really important for my client to have a peaceful respite from her busy daily life. Somewhere she could enjoy a cup of tea, do a spot of gardening and sit on a swing that would bring back wonderful memories of her childhood garden.

Using a strong, linear design, strategically placed pergolas and a more defined boundary, the focus was pulled back into the garden and along the path towards the swing. Through the use of statement acers, carex and photinia at my client's request, the colour continues year-round and there is always planting interest, even in the depth of winter.
